Whew!! The first round of the High Holy Days are done! And the second round is just around the corner. Thank you to Cantor Patti for leading us during Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, as well as our Selichot and Tashlick services. I hope that you found the services to be as inspirational and motivating as I did! Thank you to everyone who participated in and attended the services. We are most fortunate to have an awesome group of Torah readers in our Congregation and the musical talent is very special as well – thank you Cantor Patti, Joel Goodman and Gudrun Raschen for the stirring Kol Nidre! Thank you Jessica Miller for your outstanding Shofar blowing! Thank you to everyone that helped provide for a great Break The Fast!

We continue with the second part of the Holidays with Sukkot at Cantor Patti and Ray Turner’s home on Friday, October 6th. We will have a Bring Your Own Dairy Dinner at 6:30 PM, and the Sukkot Service at 7:30 PM. Torah / Tanak Study will be held in the Sukkah on Saturday, October 7th. Our Shemini Atzeret Yizkor Service will be on Thursday, October 12th, at 7:00 PM at the synagogue. We return to Cantor Patti’s home for our Simchat Torah Service on Friday, October 13th, at 7:30 PM, preceded by a BYODD at 6:30 PM. Then it’s back to the synagogue.

I mentioned in my remarks during the Holiday services that the Congregation was accepting donations that would go to a small Congregation in the Houston area that was impacted by Hurricane Harvey. The Board had decided that the Congregation would match the donations that were collected. We have raised nearly $500, so far. If you would like to help in this effort, please send your donation to the Temple post office box as soon as possible and mark you check for Harvey Relief.

Cantor Patti mentioned in her recent article that the Torah Study group is going to begin studying Ne-vi-in, the Prophets. We will start with the Book of Joshua. Everyone is invited to come and study with us.
